Welcome to the Talbott Funeral Home. We are located at 210 Brandenburg Street in Belington, WVA. We are locally owned and operated. Our mission as a funeral home is to provide compassionate and caring service to families, in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. This is all tied to affordable pricing, along with various options of service and merchandise, which will fit your wishes and ability to afford. As a locally owned and operated facility, we have a great sense of community and consider it an honor and a privilege when a family calls on us to serve them, during a very trying time. We also specialize in bank trust funded pre-needs, which allow you, as an individual, to ensure that your needs and desires are carried out at the time of your passing.
The original structure was built circa 1917 by a lumber baron, by the name of J. W. Thornhill. The funeral home began in 1936, when Julius B. “Jule” Runner established the Runner Funeral Home. It remained the Runner Funeral Home until 1977, at which time the facility was purchased by the late Ira J. Tomblyn, who along with his sons, ran the funeral home as Runner – Tomblyn & Sons.
In 1985, the funeral home was sold to the late Boyd Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was owner/operator of the funeral home until his death in 1992, at which time his daughter operated it until March, 1993, when the funeral home was purchased by the current owner, Mr. Michael Talbott, a Belington native. Mr. Talbott and his wife, Charlene, and daughters, Taylor and Lillie Faye, reside in the living quarters above the early 1900’s structure.
